About Me
Victoria Fast (Canada) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Calgary, where she leads the Accessible Mapping Research Lab. Her work sits at the intersection of GIScience, human geography, and urban studies, with a focus on how inclusive cartography and community-engaged mapping can make barriers in the built environment visible—and actionable. She studies and develops approaches to measure and map accessibility, walkability, and mobility justice, drawing on participatory GIS, volunteered geographic information, and geovisualization to support more equitable cities and digital environments. Outside of work, Victoria has a soft spot for long walks, big dogs, and great literature—bonus point for an audiobook read by the author.
